Abstract: Malaria caused by Plasmodium parasites, is one of major infectious diseases in several tropical regions, such as Asia and African countries. The main perkara in overcoming malaria are the progressive resistance of vectors to insecticides and the increasing resistance of the paracites to drugs, such as chloroquine and artemisinin. Many people, mainly traditional healers in the endemic regions use plants as hereditary remedies to cure fever and other symptoms of malaria. This fact encourages researcher to find new antimalarial agent which is affordable, accessible, and culturally acceptable based on ethnomedicinal knowledge.
